Our Program
For 16 weeks, participants attend several intensive outpatient treatment sessions per week. The Counselor's Treatment Manual: Matrix Intensive Outpatient Treatment is the curriculum used, along with other counseling tools and techiquest that support the 12 Step Recovery Model. This intensive phase of treatment incorporates various counseling and support sessions:
- Individual/Conjoint family sessions (4 sessions)
- Early Recovery Skills group sessions (8 sessions)
- Relapse Prevention group sessions (32 sessions)
- Family Education group sessions (3 sessions)
- Social Support group sessions (40 sessions)
- Urine drug screens (random, at minimum one per month and/or as needed)
- Breathalyzer tests (random, at minimum one per month and/or as needed)
Phase I:
- 12 weeks of group: 3 times per week, 3 hour intervals
- Individual sessions: 1 per month (more as needed)
- Conjoint family sessions: 1 per month in group setting
- Urine drug screens (random, at minimum one per month and/or as needed)
- Breathalyzer tests (random, at minimum one per month and/or as needed)
Phase II:
- 4 weeks of group: 1 group per week, 3 hour intervals
- 1 individual session to complete discharge/transition of IOP.
- Urine drug screens (random, at minimum one per month and/or as needed)
- Breathalyzer tests (random, at minimum one per month and/or as needed)
All participants are required to attend AA/NA meetings weekly with sponsorship. Total treatment participation and completion: 16 weeks. Services are provided by licensed or licensed eligible therapists in the Commonwealth of Virginia and Certified Substance Abuse Counselors. The program is overseen by the Clinical Director, who is a Licensed Professional Counselor and also a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor. Services are available in our Newport News, Norfolk, and Richmond office locations. Additional services provided include aftercare groups, outpatient psychotherapy, psychological evaluations, and psychiatric referrals.
